WHO WE ARE

The Lewes R/C Club welcomes new members and visitors of all ages.

We are sanctioned by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA club 1440).

We also welcome those who wish to learn more about participating

in this fascinating hobby. We have programs and a team of mentors

to help learning this hobby.  ​​​​

Our club was founded in 1980 and currently has approximately 60 members ranging in age from teenagers to those with more than 50 years experience. All are dedicated to the hobby and are eager to help others advance their flying and building skills.​

We fly at Hopkin's Field, located at 30401 Fisher Rd. in Lewes, Delaware. We are happy to answer any and all questions about flying R/C.  Guests with current AMA cards are welcome to fly up to 3 times per year prior to joining.

Weather permitting, members fly in the morning, but the field is open during daylight hours with the following exclusion.

Our neighbor and landlord has a wedding venue and requests flight operations cease from 2PM Saturday to 9AM Sunday. 

For safety reasons we request folks not fly at the field by themselves.

Lewes R/C conducts several fun fly and night fly events schedule TBA. 

We wind up the year with a club Christmas Party.​
